1. The angel Gabriel was sent from God to a town of Galilee named Nazareth, to a virgin betrothed to a man named Joseph, of the house of David. The virgin’s name was Mary. Luke 1:26-27
2. And he came to her and said, “Hail, full of grace, the Lord is with you!” Luke 1:28
3. She was deeply troubled by his words and considered in her mind what sort of greeting this might be. Luke 1:29
4. “Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God. And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus.” Luke 1:30-31
5. “And He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High; the Lord God will give to him the throne of His father David; and he will reign over the house of Jacob forever; of his kingdom there will be no end.” Luke 1:32-33
6. Mary said to the angel, “How can this be since I do not know man?” Luke 1:34
7. The angel said to her, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you; the power of the Most High will overshadow you; therefore the child to be born will be called holy, the Son of God.” Luke 1:35
8. “And behold, your kinswoman Elizabeth in her old age has also conceived a son; and this is the sixth month with her who was called barren. For with God nothing will be impossible. Luke 1:36-37
9. And Mary said, “Behold, I am the handmaid of the Lord; let it be to me according to your word.” Luke 1:38
10. Now the birth of Jesus Christ took place in this way. When his mother Mary had been betrothed to Joseph, before they came together she was found to be with child of the Holy Spirit; and her husband Joseph, being a just man and unwilling to put her to shame, resolved to send her away quietly. But as he considered this, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, “Joseph, son of David, do not fear to take Mary your wife, for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit; she will bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins. When Joseph woke from sleep, he did as the angel of the Lord commanded him. Matthew 1:18-21,24
1. In those days Mary arose and went with haste into the hill country to a town of Judah, she entered the house of Zechariah and greeted Elizabeth. Luke 1:39-40 2. And when Elizabeth heard the greeting of Mary, the babe leaped in her womb; Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit and she exclaimed with a loud cry, “Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb!” Luke 1:41-42
3. “And why is this granted me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me? For behold, when the voice of your greeting came to my ears, the babe in my womb leaped for joy.” Luke 1:43-44
4. “And blessed is she who believed that there would be a fulfillment of what was spoken to her from the Lord. Luke 1:45
6. “For behold, henceforth all generations will call me blessed; for he who is mighty has done great things for me, and holy is his name.”

1. In those days Caesar Augustus published a decree ordering a census of the whole world. Everyone went to register, each to his own town. And so Joseph went from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to David’s town of Bethlehem—because he was of the house and lineage of David—to register with Mary his espoused wife, who was with child. Luke 2:1-5
2. While they were there the days of her confinement were completed. She gave birth to her first-born son and wrapped him in swaddling clothes and laid him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn. Luke 2:6-7
3. In that region there were shepherds out in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were filled with fear. Luke 2:8-9
4. And the angel said to them, “Be not afraid; for behold, I bring you good news of a great joy which will come to all the people; for to you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.”

5. “And this will be a sign for you: you will find a babe wrapped in swaddling cloths and lying in a manger.” Luke 2: 12
6. Suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host saying, “Glory to God in the highest, peace on earth to those on whom his favor rests!” Luke 2:13-14
7. When the angels went away from them into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, “Let us go over to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has made known to us.” And they went with haste, and found Mary and Joseph, and the babe lying in a manger. Luke 2:15-16
8. Once they saw, they made known the saying which had been told them concerning this child; and all who heard it wondered at what the shepherds told them. Luke 2:17-18
9. Mary kept all these things, pondering them in her heart. Luke 2:19
10. At the end of eight days, when he was circumcised, he was called Jesus, the name given by the angel before he was conceived. Luke 2:21
1. When the day came to purify them according to the law of Moses, the couple brought him up to Jerusalem to present him to the Lord and to offer a sacrifice according to what is written in the law of the Lord, “a pair of turtledoves or two young pigeons.” Luke 2:22, 24
2. A man in Jerusalem, Simeon, righteous and devout, looking for the consolation of Israel, had revealed to him by the Holy Spirit that he should not die before he had seen the Lord’s Christ. Luke 2:25-26
3. When they brought in the child Jesus, Simeon took him in his arms and blessed God, saying, “Lord, now let thy servant depart in peace, for mine eyes have seen thy salvation displayed for all peoples, a light for revelation to the Gentiles, and for glory to thy people Israel.” Luke: 2:27-32
4. Simeon blessed them and said to Mary, “Behold, this child is set for the fall and rising of many in Israel, a sign that is spoken against and a sword will pierce through your own soul also, that thoughts of many hearts may be revealed.” Luke 2:33-35
5. A prophetess, Anna, coming at that very hour, gave thanks to God, and spoke of him to all who looked for the redemption of Jerusalem. Luke 2:36-38
6. Magi came to Jerusalem asking, “Where is the newborn king of the Jews—we’ve seen his star in the east and have come to worship him?” Matthew 2:1-2
7. Herod sent them to Bethlehem—the star went before them till it came to rest over the place where the child was. Entering the house they saw the child with Mary and they fell down and worshiped him. Matthew 2:8, 9, 11
8.The Magi, opening their treasures, offered him gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh. Matthew 2:11
9. After they departed, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream, saying, “Rise, take the child and his mother, flee to Egypt and remain there till I tell you; Herod is seeking to destroy the child.” He rose, took the child and his mother by night to Egypt. Matthew 2:13-14
10. When Herod died, an angel appeared in a dream to Joseph saying, “Rise, take the child and his mother to the land of Israel.” And he went and dwelt in the town of Nazareth. Matthew 2:19-21
1. The child grew and became strong, filled with wisdom and the grace of God was upon him. Luke 2:40
2. Jesus’ parents went to Jerusalem every year at the feast of the Passover. Now when he was twelve years old, they went up according to custom.

3. When the feast was ended, as they were returning, the boy Jesus stayed behind in Jerusalem. His parents did not know it, but supposing him to be in the caravan they went a day’s journey, and they sought him among their kinsfolk and acquaintances; and when they did not find him, they returned to Jerusalem, seeking him. Luke 2:43-45
4. After three days they found him in the temple, sitting among the teachers, listening to them and asking them questions; and all who heard him were amazed at his understanding and his answers. Luke 2:46-47
5. When they saw him they were astonished; and his mother said to him, “Son, why have you treated us so? Behold, your father and I have been looking for you anxiously.” Luke 2:48
6. And he said to them, “How is it that you searched for me? Did you not know that I must be in my Father’s house?” Luke 2:49
7.They did not understand the saying which he spoke to them.

8. Jesus went down with them and came to Nazareth and was obedient to them. Luke 2:51
9. And his mother kept all these things in her heart. Luke 2:51
10. Jesus increased in wisdom and in stature, and in favor with
